Named Among ‘2009 Movers and Shakers in the Triangle’

Raleigh, NC – September 22, 2009 – Steve Stroud, SIOR, Chairman of NAI Carolantic and Jimmy Barnes, SIOR, President of NAI Carolantic were named as ‘2009 Movers & Shakers’ at the 6th Annual Business Leader magazine award ceremony last night. The event was held to honor rising leaders within companies with more than 100 employees or C-level executives leading rising companies with fewer than 100 employees.

For over 40 years, vision, hard work and integrity have made Steve Stroud one of the most highly regarded commercial real estate professionals in North Carolina. He has not only impacted the Triangle in ways that touch the lives of every resident in the area, but also will continue to impact the area for countless generations to come. Thanks in great part to his perseverance and vision, the completed RBC Center sports and entertainment arena rises above the West Raleigh landscape and has been described as the new, premier source of entertainment in the Southeast.

His understanding of what is required today in order to succeed tomorrow has helped guide him throughout his career. Time and again, Stroud has been called to give back to our community and our state. Few people outside the political arena have used their time and energy to impact and change the landscape of North Carolina in as many meaningful and innovative ways as Steve Stroud.

Jimmy Barnes has been dealing successfully in commercial real estate for the past 20 years. A skilled public speaker, he has led the Company’s Annual Triangle Commercial Real Estate Conference since 2002. He has also been invited to speak at other conferences around the country including several NAI Global meetings and conventions.

As a specialist in Class “A” office leasing, Barnes has been involved in more than $100 million in transactions over the last four years with total transactions exceeding one million square feet. His outstanding success is attributable to the fact that he brings more than just an encyclopedic knowledge of commercial real estate to every negotiation; he also brings unquestionable ethics and integrity. It is for these reasons that he is approached time and again for representation by clients with whom he already has a proven track record – from both sides of the table.

Each year, Business Leader magazine award winners are chosen from hundreds of nominations which are submitted to Business Leader magazine on behalf of candidates. Approximately 300 people attended the event which highlighted the achievements of the winners.
