NAI Carolantic Realty President, Jimmy Barnes is
Guest Speaker at the ‘Business Leaders Breakfast'
Raleigh, NC – March 17, 2009 – This morning at the ‘Business Leaders Breakfast’ held at the Capital City Club, Jimmy Barnes, SIOR, President of NAI Carolantic was asked to give insight into the commercial real estate market for 2008 and provide a forecast for 2009. The crowd of approximately 80 business leaders listened while Mr. Barnes gave an update and summary of his presentation previously presented at the RBC Center in January for the 24th Annual Triangle Commercial Real Estate Conference. Following the presentation, several guests asked questions regarding the market and where he obtained his statistical information. Mr. Barnes indicated NAI Carolantic researches the Triangle region internally with the help of Vice President, Richard Hibbits. “Over 222 million square feet of office, multipurpose and shopping center space are surveyed and analyzed,” said Barnes. When asked when he thought the market would hit bottom, Mr. Barnes reply was “Let’s hope we’ve seen the worst. Our region has always weathered these recessions pretty well, thanks in part to the strength of our university system and the dedication of our economic development officials.”
