James M. Barnes has 20 years of commercial real estate experience exclusively in the Raleigh, Research Triangle area of North Carolina. The last 18 years have been with NAI Carolantic Realty. Mr. Barnes was named President in 2001. A specialist in Class "A" office leasing, Mr. Barnes has been involved in over $80 million of transactions just over the last three years with total transactions exceeding over one million square feet. Mr. Barnes provides exclusive tenant and landlord representative services to local, corporate and investment companies. He has represented large Class "A" office developments in Cary, Downtown Raleigh and North Raleigh. Mr. Barnes is frequently recognized as one of the top real estate leasing brokers in the Triangle area and is often approached by the media for his opinion on the local market.

Within NAI Carolantic, his responsibilities include continued project administration, client development, and consultation. A skilled public speaker, he is also well known for having led NAI Carolantic's Annual Conference since 2002.

• Progress Energy: Represents owner in all lease transactions throughout North and South Carolina.

There are only 3,200 SIOR members world-wide and only 123 members in the states of North Carolina and South Carolina
